Meet the Staff
Mike Coyle, President – Graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Finance. He began his insurance career in 1974 as a field rep for Crum & Forster Insurance Company. In 1978 he founded the R.M. Coyle Company, an independent agency. In 1991, R.M. Coyle Company merged with the Varland Agency, forming what is now the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency, Inc. Mike is licensed in all lines of insurance, which include Accident/Health, Life, Property & Casualty.
Mark Sudderberg, Vice President and Financial Representative – Mark currently holds his Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations as well as Accident, Health, and Life licenses. He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, AALU (Association for Advanced Life Underwriting), and a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Mark specializes in all aspects of financial planning for business owners.
Rick Reese, Vice President and Commercial Producer – Rick graduated from the Northern Illinois University with a degree in Meteorology. He began his insurance career in 1997 and joined the Coyle-Varland Agency in 2002. He has earned designations as both an Associate in Claims (AIC) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Rick is also a member of the Northern Illinois Building Contractors Association (NIBCA).
Dana Kiley, Vice President and Commercial Producer – Dana, a native of Rockford, graduated from the University of Iowa in 1997 with a degree in Psychology and Communications. He joined Coyle-Varland in 2001 and is licensed in all lines of insurance, which include Accident/Health, Life, Property & Casualty. Dana's concentrations are Commercial Property & Casualty, as well as Home & Auto. Dana is currently working towards his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
Jan Mack, Commercial Producer – Jan received her insurance license in 1983, and has been selling insurance since 1987. She holds her Accident/ Health, Life, Property & Casualty licenses. She received her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in October, 2000 and is currently working on her Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriting Designation. Jan has been with the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency since 1997.
Boris Zabikow, Commercial Producer – Boris graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. He entered the insurance industry in 1974 as a underwriter for both national and regional accounts with Travelers Insurance Co. Boris obtained his Accident/ Health, Life, Property and Casualty licenses in 1982. Boris joined Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 2007.
John Rose, Commercial Producer – John joined Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in the Fall of 2008. He is licensed in Accident/Health, Life, Property and Casualty. He specializes in assisting not-for-profit organizations and business owners throughout the States of Illinois and Wisconsin. John is a native of Rockford and graduated from Rockford College in 1999 with a degree in Education. He was recognized as a "Legendary Performer" in 2003 by West Bend Mutual. John's involvement with the community includes Golf Chairman of the Boylan Open 2006-2008, Member of The Cathedral of St. Peters, and Member of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.
Dan O'Boyle, CPA, Commercial & Surety Bond Producer – A native of Stockton, IL, Dan has lived in Rockford since graduating from Loras College in 1989. His background in public accounting provides familiarity with many different industries and governmental entities. With 15-years experience as a corporate controller/CFO in the construction industry, he offers a unique perspective while providing insurance and bonding programs for companies in all industries. Dan joined Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 2009.
Jeffrey Beto, Commercial Producer – Jeffrey, a native of Rockford, graduated from Campbell University with a degree in Business and Professional Golf Management in 2007. He is licensed in all lines of insurance, which include Accident/ Health, Life, Property, & Casualty. His background in the golf industry provides him valuable experiences with regard to customer service. Jeffrey joined the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 2010.
Sue Fordham, Commercial Lines Manager – Sue attended Northern Illinois University, majoring in Education. She began her insurance career in 1968 and joined the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 1992, becoming the Commercial Lines Manager in 1996. Sue brings a broad background in insurance company commercial rating, underwriting and premium audit experience to the agency. She holds her Property & Casualty licenses and has been a Certified Insurance Service Representative since 1994.
Donna Gray, Commercial Property & Casualty Customer Service Representative – Donna received her insurance license in 1984 and has been a Certified Insurance Service Representative since 1995. She holds her Accident/Health, Life, Property, & Casualty licenses. Donna has been with the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency since 1994.
Sharon Mann , Commercial Property & Casualty Customer Service Representative – Sharon began her insurance career in 1976 and joined the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 2005. In 1981, she obtained her Property and Casualty license. Sharon has been a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) since 2003 and also maintains her CPIW designation.
Stephanie Heinberg, Commercial Property & Casualty Customer Service Representative – Stephanie received her insurance license in 1994 and has been a Certified Insurance Service Representative since 1997. She has been with the Coyle Varland Insurance Agency since 1995. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University in 1992.
Tina Bridegan, Commercial Property & Casualty Customer Service Representative – Tina began her insurance career in 1994 as a customer service representative. She holds her Accident/Health, Life, Property and Casualty licenses. Tina earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 1998. She has a varied background in accounting and office administration. She joined the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency team in 2007.
Laurel McVinnie, Personal Property & Casualty Producer and Customer Service Representative – Laurel has 25-years experience in customer service and came to the Coyle-Varland Agency in 1999. She received her Property and Casualty license in 2000. Laurel obtained her Life and Health licenses and her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 2003. Laurel is an active member of Rockford Area Insurance Association.
Michelle Klaman, Personal Property & Casualty Producer and Customer Service Representative, Claims Manager – Michelle attended the University of Southern Colorado and received her education in Business Management and Finance. She joined the Coyle-Varland Insurance Agency in 2002. Michelle obtained her Series 6 & 63 Securities Registrations in 1998, her Life license in 1999, and her Property & Casualty licenses in 2002. She earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 2004 and her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2006.
Michele Kimes, Benefits Manager – Michele graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a degree in Journalism/Marketing. She began her insurance career in 1995 at Rockford Health Plans. Michele holds her Accident/Health, Life and Long Term Care licenses. She joined Coyle-Varland in 2010.
Jennifer Jordan, Sales Assistant and Financial Representative – Jennifer joined Coyle-Varland in 2001. She has held her Accident, Health, and Life licenses since 2000 and her Series 6 and 63 securities registrations since 2001. Jennifer is currently working toward obtaining her Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations.
Ashley Thomas, Sales Assistant – Bringing a background in commercial banking along with prior administrative assistant experience, Ashley joined the agency in June, 2010. She earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Rock Valley College. She obtained her Accident/Health & Life licenses in 2010 and is currently working toward her Series 6 & 63 Securities.
Cindy Genandt, Agency Accountant and Administrator – Bringing a varied background in accounting and office administration, Cindy joined Coyle-Varland in July, 1999. She earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Rock Valley College in 1988.
Stefani Layman , Receptionist and Staff Support – In addition to a highly self-motivated attitude, Stefani brings to her position experience from other service organizations, all which have helped her to develop a sincere focus on building positive customer relationships. In October, 2004, Stefani received her Property and Casualty license, and in November of 2006, she obtained her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She is currently attending Rock Valley College.
